Happy Anniversary Sydney Metro North West! Our team were delighted to help celebrate with the Metro Trains Sydney team & congratulate them on 3 years of operation.
The Metro North West Line is a game-changer for residents of Sydney’s northwest, giving locals a fast and reliable public transport option for the first time and playing a significant role in shaping the region, supporting the growth of the local economy and population.
Since opening in 2019, there have been 42.8 million journeys over three years of service with the driverless trains travelling 10,770,277 kilometers – the equivalent of 28 trips to the moon. Metro runs 346 services daily, with services every four minutes in the peak.
The milestone also highlights The Glascott Group’s involvement in the creation & maintenance of this important piece of public infrastructure; from the 2-year landscape construction delivered by Glascott Landscape & Civil, Marsupial’s establishment services during the build and warranty maintenance in the first year of operation, to our current contract with MTS where we provide services to ensure the safe, clean & aesthetically pleasing aspects of the landscapes along the rail corridor.
